Barr is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Ann Arbor, Michigan team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Engineering and Design business unit on preparing detailed engineering design of gas, hazardous liquids, slurry, and other pipeline systems projects including design of trenchless crossings. Your impact – key responsibilities Providing remote and onsite services including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance on Hydrogen Generators, Compressors, Dispensers and Storage systems. Planning and executing the installation of equipment including compressors, generators, dispensers, storage units and chillers at customer sites. Monitoring and remotely operating Control system for Generators and Compressors. Developing and implementing standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures and schedule for all hydrogen generation, compression and dispensing equipment on the site, specialized equipment used includes: high pressure piping, hydraulically driven dual stage and dual acting compressors, gas pressure boosters, refrigerant chillers, fan coil units Steam methane reformers, and Hydrogen dispensers SAE J2601 Developing Purge plans, Outage procedures, Hazardous classification drawings, and compressible fluid flow calculations. About the opportunity A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Michigan office. About you – required core competencies Education and Experience: Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and three (3) years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer; or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and five (5) years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience working as a Mechanical Engineer. Must have at least 24 months of experience with each of the key responsibilities listed. We will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master’s program and will accept experience gained concurrently. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
