CACI has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer-Modeling to support the lethality analysis and modeling of foreign armored vehicles, weapon systems, and UAS.
We need experts to support the technical exploitation of foreign systems and subcomponents for current and future technology. We assess scientific and technical capabilities, forecast and predict future capabilities and battlefield effectiveness, and create high-fidelity models and simulations of systems.
Join our Team as we drive all-source collection, apply research, and deliver highly technical, all-source finished intelligence on emerging and disruptive technologies helping our customers to assess current threats and forecast future threats on some of the nationals most challenging missions.
You will conduct research to define the characterization and performance of trucks, MELs/TELs, armored vehicles, rockets and missiles (including 6-DOF trajectories and appropriate guidance/sensors), and UAS, develop model test matrices and assess model performance characteristics throughout their lifecycle. Additionally, you will be a key contributor and collaborator for each model’s verification and validation process, ensuring model performance is in line with advertised capability and author threat assessments. Document findings in modeling tools, databases, and written assessments.
You will work daily across several intelligence branches to define testing parameters to meet system analyst’s needs.

Job Description:

  • Provide analysis of foreign armored vehicles, weapon systems, and UAS systems using specified computational modeling tools (C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.).
  • Modeling of trucks, MELs/TELs, armored vehicles, rockets and missiles (including 6-DOF trajectories and appropriate guidance/sensors), and UAS with the goal of improving an understanding of lethality.
  • Utilize existing or recently delivered models to assist the customer in evaluation and provide feedback to developers.
  • Utilize existing models to conduct analysis and produce data for customers.
  • Assist customer in integrating models into simulation environments (AFSIM, ITASE, etc.)
  • Assist customer in building simulation scenarios, and execution of those scenarios to produce analysis results and data.
  • Assist in M&S configuration management and technical decisions.
  • Model maintenance and development.
  • Assist/advise external customers in use and integration of customers models and simulations.
  • Develop all-source assessments, RFIs, briefings, and data in compliance established IC tradecraft requirements, specifically ICD 203 and ICD 206.

Requirements:

• This position requires a minimum of a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. • Significant software skills, comfortable with technology, programming, and analysis (AFSIM, ITASE, etc. / C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.).

  • Experience in Verification and Validation of models.
  • Understanding of fluid-dynamic, thermodynamics or shock physics.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines will be considered for applicants with operational engineering-based military or industry experience.
  • Intelligence Community (IC) background is preferred but not required.
