Duties & Responsibilities: · Prepare a schedule of work and provide direction for the preparation of designs, processes and related data for very complex engineering problems to ensure that work is completed as per deadline and engineering standards. · Lead analysis of data pertinent to engineering problems, with respect to scope, economic value, long range planning and budgetary considerations. · Prepare, review or consolidate reports of investigation or engineering studies. · Conduct analysis/investigations on all corrosion problems and metal. · Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Specialist Engineer Piping Systems. Minimum Requirements: · Experienced in relevant field. Experienced in refining and/or petrochemical industry piping and equipment design and plant troubleshooting. · Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. · Thorough knowledge of best engineering practices, industry codes and standards background (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO) and use of engineering software (preferable for CAESAR II). · Capable to perform special studies and analyses in a specialized field, such as necessary mechanical calculations for piping, pressure vessel, shell and tube heat exchangers, air cooler fin fans, branch reinforcement, MAWP, hydrotest pressure, rating and/or de-rating, fitness for service to evaluate flaws or damage, pipe stress analysis, flange calculations, and perform nozzle calculations. · Capable to prepare cost-effective and small detailed design packages, piping layout, material take off, material selection.
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will prepare work schedules and direct the preparation of designs for complex engineering problems. They will also lead data analysis related to engineering issues and conduct investigations on corrosion problems.
