Description

SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Engineer at Playcraft Systems will be an integral part of the Engineering Team, responsible for designing and reviewing projects in collaboration with peers, manufacturing, and leadership. This role involves working closely with in-house teams, including fabricators, assemblers, and supervisors, to ensure smooth project execution. Key responsibilities include generating 3D models, creating detailed assembly drawings, and developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) tailored to each project’s specifications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • BSME and 2 years’ experience preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • Clear and concise effective communication skills
  • Strong proven technical skills with hands on experience
  • Application of mechanical engineering and quality assurance principles and techniques
  • Application of DFM drafting and mechanical drawing knowledge and techniques

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Ability to prepare Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Microsoft Office Suite experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Parametric Modeling Software; SolidWorks preferred

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be engaged in a wide variety of projects and will work collaboratively with many team members. These responsibilities will include the following:

  • Promotes the Company’s mission and values-based culture through focus on quality, innovation, and value.
  • Drawings include dimensioning, fastening methods, fabrication, and annotation details using current ANSI Standards.
  • Utilize industry standards in preparing detailed models and drawings for parts and assemblies
  • Research, create new, and modify existing drawings as required
  • Create structural and dynamic designs and details for safe, creative playground assemblies
  • Apply mechanical aptitude for testing products using current ASTM Standards
  • Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
