Description

QUALIFICATIONSKEY:

  • Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a mechanical/process engineer in the power sector, ideally developed within a plant/system design role or professional services/consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledgeable of waste-to-energy plants, the key technologies & components and project lifecycle considerations.
  • Experience of working with public and private sector clients in the Asia region.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of and expertise in other areas of waste management including renewable technologies applied to waste analysis, sorting, processing and recycling as part of the circular economy.
  • Experience with and including design software as applied to HMB, CFD, piping design and process control.
  • Knowledge of, or the ambition to learn and develop expertise in process systems for generation of biofuels and power plant waste cleaning systems such as flue gas and waste water treatment.
  • Experience with project management and project planning software tools.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Mechanical Engineer in the Power Team will undertake a range of waste-to-energy together with other state of the art waste management projects and consulting assignments in the Asia region.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare design specifications and interface with clients providing technical advice on all aspects of power plant development including configuration options, prime equipment selection, BoP systems & components, enabling infrastructure and considerations for project implementation.
  • Support clients technically through project feasibility, project appraisals, procurement evaluations, contractor/vendor design review and engineering, project construction, commissioning, and performance testing.
  • Support proposal development, drawing on WSP’s regional and international network of support experts where needed.
  • Manage project technical delivery requirements.
