The role of Mechanical Engineer at Q3 will be based at one of our client sites in central London. You will be a key member of the onsite team, joining at an interesting time before the building goes live, you will have an exciting opportunity to become familiar with the site before it’s occupied. You will also be carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and statutory compliance activities. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual with a strong work ethic, team building mindset and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
· Support with the technical aspects of the building’s final fit-out process, ensuring that all systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.) are installed to specifications.
· Collaborate with contractors and project managers to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the building’s fit-out.
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all construction work is in line with project plans and safety regulations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve any technical challenges that arise during the fit-out process.
· Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a variety of facilities maintenance equipment.
· Responding promptly and efficiently to reactive maintenance calls.
· Conducting routine HSE statutory compliance activities, including tasks related to ACOP L8 (Legionella control) and emergency lighting testing.
· Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systems.
· Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities.
· Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
· Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with clients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Proven experience as a Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Engineer.
· Ideally, a recognised industry qualification, preferably mechanical, but we are open to electrical and multiskilled disciplines (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
· Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC.
· Experience in carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
· Knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements, including ACOP L8 and emergency lighting.
· Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience working in a variety of sectors (e.g., commercial & industrial) is desirable.
· Specific experience in facilities maintenance.
