Description:

job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Leads assigned projects from engineering
  • Design, Specify, and produce detailed drawings for Induction tooling and components, including but not limited to: Machine bases, material handling, actuators, pneumatics, sensors, geared actuators, servos, cams, bearings, pumps, heat exchangers, water-containment systems, induction coils, bus bars, guarding, etc.
  • Utilize technical data (i.e. Machinery’s handbook, internet, vendor catalogs, etc.) to create robust designs. Knowledge of screws, threads, materials, strength of materials, speed and feeds, correct fit, form and function of various design elements. Understanding of commonly used drafting and tolerance practices to facilitate correct interpretation of technical drawings.
  • Generate and update technical drawings using standard design convention, tolerance, and technical drawing standards as required.
  • Collaborate with Radyne Engineering and Manufacturing personnel in developing improvements in tooling, manufacturing methods, machining, and material usage.
  • Influence how own work assignments are completed. Some creativity in accomplishing assignments and use of discretion and independent judgment required.
  • Address any problems encountered in the fabrication and construction of experimental or production machines.
  • Detail and check part drawings, process ECO’s, and create/maintain BOM’s.
  • Assist in the assembly and troubleshooting of systems if needed, to help achieve goals set by project timeline. Completes projects on time and within budget.
  • Working under the guidance of the Machine Design Manager, design and produce detailed drawings for mechanical systems that move and orient parts to be processed in our Induction Heating Systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Engineering - emphasis on mechanical
  • Knowledge of production techniques including Machining, Fabricating, Welding, Assembly a plus
  • Must have good technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Robotics Experience a plus
    Experience with AutoCAD a plus
