Description
SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join in and support our team at our customer site in North Charleston, SC. The Mechanical Engineer will be focused on supporting the design and integration of the next generation Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) that is installed on United States Marine Corps vehicles such as the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and Ultra Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV) and duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Perform Finite Element Analysis on mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Support design and modeling of mechanical parts and assemblies in SolidWorks. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation. Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience. Must have experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development. Knowledge of systems engineering and integration principles such as requirements definition, verification and validation testing, interface control documents (ICDs) and systems engineering management plans (SEMP). Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and work well independently and as part of a team. Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Desired Experience: Familiar with quality management systems, familiar with ASME drafting standards, troubleshooting experience, experience with Product Data Management Systems (e.g., Windchill, iPDM).
