We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This is an onsite role, with standard working hours Monday through Friday and occasional overtime as needed.

BONUS SKILLS (NICE TO HAVE)

Journeyman industrial mechanic experience (10–15 years)
Experience with foundations, steel structures, or hard building expansions
Prior work on hospital or large office building projects

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this position, you will facilitate mechanical building system design, startups, and commissioning activities for industrial projects. You will oversee equipment and pipe installations, coordinate with contractors, and ensure projects meet schedule, cost, and quality expectations. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and industrial building construction will help deliver successful project outcomes.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (Overtime up to 25%)
Travel: 5% domestic travel, primarily to Georgetown, KY
Overtime: Up to 25%

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

✔ Facilitate mechanical system design, startups, and commissioning activities
✔ Review product/equipment submittals, shop drawings, and contractor-generated RFIs
✔ Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA standards, and electrical/building codes (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM)
✔ Coordinate with contractors and vendors for factory testing, delivery, installation, and handover
✔ Conduct inspections and quality verification of mechanical systems and installations
✔ Manage weekend or plant shutdown work with contractors and plant teams
✔ Prepare field engineering status reports and provide technical feedback to improve project standards
✔ Effectively communicate technical matters in written and verbal formats
✔ Multi-task, prioritize, and manage project commitments to meet deadlines and milestones
