We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Mechanical Engineer Sensors within our Engineering team to help support our Hydraulics business at our Pacoma branch in Eschwege, Germany. Our cylinders are extensively used in the construction machinery industry, the automobile industry, and in engineering applications as well as in logistics and material handling. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with ISO 4413, CE, or ATEX standards for hydraulic systems and sensor certification.
  • Experience in DFMEA, design validation plans, or test protocols for sensor-embedded products.
  • Background in mechatronic system design.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for hydraulic systems with integrated sensor technologies (e.g. pressure, position, flow sensors).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing to ensure seamless sensor integration.
  • Perform FEA, tolerance analysis, and design validation for components in high-pressure hydraulic environments.
  • Support prototype development, product testing, and validation under simulated and real-world operating conditions.
  • Create and manage technical documentation, including 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Analyze field data and customer feedback to implement product improvements or troubleshooting measures.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to cost reduction and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) initiatives.
