About the Role

Working within the automation team, you will support the mechanical design and improvement of industrial machinery and equipment.

You'll take defined engineering tasks and concepts and develop these into practical mechanical designs and SolidWorks models, working collaboratively with the Engineering Lead through regular design reviews.

The role would suit a Mechanical Engineer with approximately 2-5 years' experience who has worked around industrial equipment, machinery or manufacturing environments and is confident using SolidWorks.

Location: South eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with a fixed hybrid arrangement of 3 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs and 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Take defined engineering tasks and translate them into practical design solutions.
  • Support modifications and improvements to existing industrial machinery.
  • Produce and update mechanical models and drawings.
  • Participate in regular design reviews with the Engineering Lead.
  • Support rapid improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help accelerate engineering delivery across an existing machinery project.
  • The Ideal Candidate for This Position Will Have Experience in the Following:Approximately 2-5 years' Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Mechanical or machine design within an industrial environment.
  • SolidWorks experience - essential.
  • Developing mechanical concepts into workable models and designs.
  • Practical understanding of design for manufacture.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take technical direction and feedback.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
