Description

SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking an experienced, highly skilled mechanical engineer to join growing company. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to develop more efficient manufacturing machinery that utilizes less energy without sacrificing performance. Once design plans have been approved, you will oversee the implementation of the new equipment or adjustments to current systems and run tests to ensure they operate properly. Our ideal candidate has at least three years of professional engineering experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience with mechanical design, or manufacturing engineer work.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, Finite Element Analysis, mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, aerospace design methodologies, risk assessments, and FMEAs
  • Strong technical skills and a deep understanding of mechanical designs, manufacturing processes, including the ability to interpret, review, and modify technical drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to put together high-level engineering reports, analysis summaries, and design packages
  • Ability to create and document compliance matrices from customer specifications and industry standards
  • Extensive knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Able to create 2-D and 3-D designs to run simulations, analyze, and test
  • Proficient in all phases of engineering development (requirements, design, test and production)
  • Conduct experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on models or prototypes of aerospace systems or equipment
  • Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation
  • Strong organizational, communications, leadership, and interpersonal skills٫ together with a results-driven approach.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeaner at all times.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of aerospace standards applicable to the design and test of instrumentation
  • Experience with AS9100D Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Understanding reliability analysis at the component and assembly level
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, production, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
  • Writes engineering documentation to meet customer design requirements, including customer data deliverables (CDRL), manuals, parts lists, and proposals
  • Performs a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
  • Confers with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects
  • Ensures that engineering designs conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing systems specifications and technical drawings
  • Establishes manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
  • Ensures compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
  • Assists with the mechanical design process for new and existing products. This will include but not be limited to developing & supporting mechanical prints, build documentation, and engineering analysis & reports
  • Aids efforts to transition development products into the production environment while maintaining design integrity, producibility, and quality of production products
  • Performs finite element analysis for new and existing designs, in addition, generates stress reports and FEMAs to support the designs
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves production assembly and test plans, methods, procedures, and training for new and existing products
  • Participates in problem solving activities related to design, quality, and manufacturing of electromechanical products
  • Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to manager
  • Mentor junior staff members, interns, and peers
  • Other duties as assigned
