Job Description We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our offices in Terrassa (Barcelona) with at least 2 years of experience in designing special-purpose machinery for the pharmaceutical sector (ideally filling machinery) or the packaging industry. The role involves designing and developing this special machinery in 3D, as well as preparing all associated technical documentation. Main responsabilities: Development of mechanical solutions, creation of models and drawings, preparation of mock-ups, optimization of existing assemblies, and preparation and updating of functional specifications, flow diagrams, and pneumatic schematics. Technical calculations and sizing, including strength calculations, service life and tolerance analyses, as well as the use of simulation tools and, when appropriate, FEM analysis for design validation. Documentation of modifications and data maintenance in ERP/PLM systems: creation and updating of Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP, as well as initiating catalog part requests (workflow). Conducting risk assessments, preparing functional specifications, leading Design Qualification workshops, and participating in systematic design reviews. Planning, coordinating, and supervising prototypes, tests, and trials; evaluating the results and deriving the necessary design modifications. Technical support for assembly, pre‑assembly, service, and purchasing; rapid implementation of design modifications in case of complaints, with a high level of responsiveness and proactivity. Compliance with and application of relevant standards and guidelines (machine safety, pharmaceutical requirements), as well as participation in the standardization and continuous improvement of design standards. Coordination with customers and suppliers: technical communication with the customer, support during acceptances/tests, and coordination with external suppliers for data management and manufacturing. Qualifications University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification; academic certificate. Experience in the design and construction of special-purpose machinery, ideally in pharmaceutical filling lines or comparable pharmaceutical equipment. Extensive hands-on experience with 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks/DBWorks) including a demonstrable portfolio of CAD models/drawings. Experience with SAP (master data, Bills of Materials, classification, etc.) and with database systems. Familiarity with design workflows, Design Reviews, functional specifications, risk assessments, process flow diagrams, and pneumatic schematics. Hands-on experience with prototypes/testing, assembly support, and customer acceptance activities. Interdisciplinary mindset (mechanical, electrical engineering, automation, and process technology) with a focus on overall customer‑oriented functionality.
