Description

This role supports GM launch plants by focusing on spare parts management for powertrain equipment. You will work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure critical spare parts are available to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and support successful launches and retooling projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous powertrain plant experience supporting maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of spare parts, repairable components, and maintenance practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with GM processes and systems (SAP, Maximo, DCC) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, bills of material, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly in breakdown/emergency situations.
  • Effective communicator with experience working cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, suppliers, and OEMs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed to support plant and inventory activities.
  • Ability to travel as required to support multiple GM facilities.

    Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Support GM powertrain launch plants by analyzing spare parts needs for new equipment and retooling projects.
  • Use systems such as SAP, Maximo, and DCC to track, manage, and optimize spare parts inventory.
  • Review bills of material, drawings, and machine documentation to determine stocking levels based on part criticality, cost, lead time, and repairability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve spare parts processes to reduce downtime and generate ongoing cost savings.
  • Collaborate with GM maintenance teams, engineers, suppliers, and leadership to ensure spare parts availability and responsiveness.
  • Provide technical support during emergency breakdowns to identify and source required parts quickly.
  • Assist in stocking analysis for GM distribution centers and spare part hubs.
  • Be available to support urgent plant needs as required (24/7 accessibility in emergencies).
