MECHANICAL ENGINEER TEAM LEAD

PEMEX Deer Park is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to take on a dynamic role within the engineering department, blending technical expertise with strong leadership. You will lead and support a team of mechanical engineers focused on ensuring the reliability of both static and rotating equipment. You will guide efforts in operational and maintenance support, risk identification and mitigation, and effective change management. You will collaborate regularly with peers and stakeholders across the organization to align priorities and allocate resources strategically, driving optimal business results.
You will be expected to lead a team of 5–7 engineers, supporting roughly half of the refinery’s operations across multiple production areas and units. You will also collaborate closely with stakeholders, contribute to long-term business planning, and provide technical oversight in mechanical engineering. Occasional extended hours may be required during maintenance events.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs.
