Description
Overview We are seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer with 3D CAD skills for our Albany, GA branch location. Will function as a hands-on engineer providing manufacturing/process engineering expertise for project design, commissioning, and start-up. Requires local travel to client site (mileage to/from office is reimbursed) for meetings, field inspections, and startup. Longer trips/overnight visits are required occasionally. Responsibilities Produce layouts and manufacturing drawings following acceptable Engineering and Manufacturing Standards. Provide technical design support for Project Leader. Understand project's scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints and work within them. Participate in internal & external design reviews including interrelationships of other disciplines. Follow established project controls procedures. Prepare formal project control forms, i.e., transmittals, drawing requests, etc. Communicate with the client. Periodically will coordinate work with other designers. Projects may include process, machine upgrades, piping, utilities, checking drawings, bill-of-materials, specifications, etc. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. 3D CAD experience. Willingness to gain/progress to PE qualifications. Essential Functions Must be able to climb ladders, walk over crossovers, and access equipment Must be able to climb a caged personnel ladder Must be capable of walking the distance from parking lot to designated job area (1 mile+), in addition to walking throughout a large manufacturing plant during course of day for required meetings and other required duties. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report (MVR) according to company and client policies.
Responsibilities
The engineer will produce manufacturing drawings and provide technical design support while adhering to project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Responsibilities also include participating in design reviews and communicating with the client regarding projects involving process upgrades, piping, and utilities.
