Arctic Cat is now hiring a Mechanical Test Engineer to be responsible for conducting tests on All Terrain Vehicles (ATV), Recreational Off-highway Vehicles (ROV), and Snowmobiles through field durability, laboratory, compliance, and developmental tests. Testing will be done in compliance with standards, including compiling and reporting acquired test data, documenting pre- and post-testing information, compiling test reports, and performing necessary duties to support all tests performed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform detailed laboratory, compliance, development, and field test per documented procedures. Perform full vehicle instrumentation, including but not limited to; stain gages, accelerometers, pressure sensors, potentiometers, and thermocouples, operate and program data acquisition equipment. Assure completeness and accuracy of tests performed. Communicate test results effectively to product team managers and engineering personnel. Assist and guide in the organization, development, and implementation of test methods and procedures. Determine the appropriate test equipment required to perform any given test. If in-house equipment modification or fabrication is required, assist in the design, modification, or fabrication of that test equipment. Ensures accurate records are kept of tests performed to verify that products meet specifications. Present test data using graphs, spreadsheets, and statistics with data analysis software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Maintain the test lab work area and participate in 5S events to improve workplace efficiency. Assist in the repair of and maintaining calibration of laboratory and data acquisition equipment. Develop an understanding of the latest material developments, test methods, industry procedures, standards, and new technologies applicable to testing the products. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive designs, costing, test data, prototype models, and product plans. Participate in and encourage the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and professionalism Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely-related curriculum required. 2 or more years of relevant engineering and test experience. Microsoft Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Dew-esoft, NI LabView, AIM, Somat, or other data acquisition software required. Salary based on several factors including but not limited to years of experience, qualifications, and special technical skills.
