Description
The Need: Our client is current looking for a Mechanical Engineer or someone with equivalent experience to be responsible for completing the Mechanical portion of small to large projects as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical field. They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. This support is needed starting immediately and currently does not have a defined end date. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis. Location: Ft Wayne, IN (Onsite) Pay: $50–$58/hour Depending on experience and qualifications (W2 Contract) Contract: Long-term with possible CTH after 6 months Work Status: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Green Card or US Citizen only) Work Schedule: Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday – Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage. Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment. Up to 5% domestic and some international travel Day-to-day job responsibilities: Provide detailed mechanical design and project management for assigned projects. Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of process equipment addition, replacement, or upgrade. Provide backup support and training to plant maintenance teams on new automation systems that they implement. Interface with internal company support groups to accomplish objectives and provide contract engineering management and direction when needed. Participate in assigned major capital projects and/or modifications from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance. Must Have Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with 2-4 years of current mechanical engineering project experience, in industrial manufacturing or commercial building environments being preferred. Experience with mechanical design standards using standard CAD design tools (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) Experience in Project Team Leadership or Project Management. Pluses / PREFFERED Skills for the role: Preferred - Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred but not required. Specific experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB is a plus. Overall Project Management coordination of engineering deliverables from all engineering contributors on the project team, to include the following is preferred. Engineering estimates, including equipment, installation labor, design and startup engineering, travel, and managing project actual cost evolution. Project schedule, including design engineering, procurement, installation, startup, qualification. Equipment procurement, including specifications for RFQ process, purchase order, tracking supplier progress and managing equipment acceptance at the supplier. Contributing to equipment safety & ergonomic risk assessment evaluation with the receiving plant Organizing onsite equipment reception, installation, startup, ramp up including managing customer acceptance criteria with the receiving plant. Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated solid teamwork, communication, and planning skills required. Previous project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
