We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer here in Clyde, NY. We take lead as a manufacturer of products for the electronic display and imaging market sincee 1948.

Here at Thomas you will have the opportunity:

  • identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and develop improvements
  • define and develop metrology to assure compliance with mechanical specifications
  • design of mechanical components, fixtures, and assemblies
  • develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • continuous improvement activities aimed to improve the overall efficiency of operations and to meet all company objectives
  • initiate Engineering Change Notices for Drawings, Bill of Materials and Assembly Procedures
  • assist in determining equipment and tools to be used and oversee assembly process documentation
  • work with other engineering staff to ensure all product and system requirements are evaluated and considered in process improvement initiatives
  • provide daily floor support to production team as to concerns with production capabilities, schedules and potential problems
  • train production team on various aspects of assembly to ensure product meets quality standards as prescribed by the Quality department.

Bring us your:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with a minor in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have at least 3 years, preferably working with electromechnical assemblies or similar type of manufacturing operations
  • You should be able to easily work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Bring your excellent communication skills; with the ability to interface at multi-levels of the organization and with customers.
  • You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • We need you to have functional expertise in CAD and mechanical design software (AutoCad, Solidworks)
  • Also, you should have functional expertise in programming measuring instruments.
  • Preferably we desire you to have SPC, DOE, LabView, and 3D printing.
