The salary for this role is £33,000 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP)), and onsite working is expected for 5 days a week.
Job Description
This role can be based at the following site; Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience.
    Parts of the role may require work in radiation-controlled areas or in beryllium-controlled areas (full training and medical assessments will be provided if this is necessary)

THE ROLE

As Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing mechanical engineering skills by contributing to multidisciplinary engineering and technical projects within this Materials Business Unit as part of UKAEA’s fusion research programme.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing & designs simple systems using own initiative.
  • Communicating with colleagues internally to gather information and share ideas.
  • Contributing to long- and short-term projects.
  • Contributing to technical documentation.
  • Carrying out installation activities.
  • Designing, installation and testing of pressure systems
