Job Description:

Participate in system design:

  • Advise and reviews projects in the sales phase (compliancy check)
  • Translate and optimize the as sold functionality to a working mechanical design within the budget available in co-operation with other disciplines (LLC, HLC, Installation etc.)
  • Identify specials (DAR process) and coordinate design with SDE (responsible for end product)
  • Coordinate phasing layouts i.e. brownfield projects
  • Coordinate steelwork design
  • Integrate design rules for safety and ergonomics in design
  • Deliver mechanical design baseline for customer approval
  • Coordinate building interfaces (space requirements, architectural & structural interfaces, building services, accessibility for

O&M, safety and security)

  • Coordinate interfaces for procurement items
  • Coordinate operator interfaces

Participate in detailed design:

  • Create / generate the equipment list as input for hard- and software engineering

  • Specify mechanical equipment and peer review specifications of other engineers (or delegates this to the layout engineer)

  • Coordinate and specify resale equipment (standard and special)
  • Archive mechanical deliverables

Organize supply:

  • Define activity split up based on installation areas, PLC areas and model split-up
  • If needed makes forecasts of necessary equipment
  • Define and monitor mechanical workpackages

Plan, report and lead a team

  • Regularly reports to / updates PLE / PME
  • Create detailed mechanical planning from overall project planning and synchronise plan with other disciplines.
  • Lead layout engineer(s) and mechanical engineer(s)

Manage budget:

  • Deliver scope with predictable quality in time and within budget
  • Independently make estimates of budgets, engineering hours and a planning for mechanical (part)project

Support site:

  • Create installation file
  • Create Mechanical Running Test
  • Handle site problem reports
  • Create extra material specifications
  • Create site installations instructions
  • Support the installation and commissioning teams both on site and from Veghel
  • Processes as-built documentation from site

Continuous improvement:

  • Transfer knowledge to other engineers
  • Initiates improvements in content, process and tooling
  • Feeds back lessons learned from the project into product, process and tooling
  • Supports product manager engineering
  • Tutors new engineers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Spanish&English: High Level (must)
  • Knowledge of mechanical installations
  • Knowledge of relevant material handling equipment (DOTM, RAW, ICS, ASRS, loops, …)
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
