WFS has borrowing capacity to meet the daily cash needs of new business development, new award support, and operational working capital. WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services Position Summary This position will support the Engineering Group by performing design work, evaluating and optimizing existing systems, troubleshooting systems, and working closely with fellow site operations personnel. Responsibilities: * Prepare and check moderately complex calculations within the Mechanical Engineering discipline, including pipe/vessel design and pressure relief valve sizing calculations per ASME codes such as B31.3, Section VIII and IX. * Efficiently utilize AutoDesk AutoCAD and Inventor to prepare mechanical engineering drawings in 2D and 3D including but not limited to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical fabrication drawings, and room/building layout drawings. * Independently lead design/build projects across all 3 NETL sites. * Review interdisciplinary engineering documents and work with other members of the engineering team to resolve any issues. * Create productive relationships with organizations within and external to the Engineering Group. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology and a Professional Engineering License. * 0 – 15 years of professional experience. * Good oral and written communication skills, working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, organizational skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. * Ability to pass a Fit for Duty employment test to verify the ability to meet the physical and functional demands of the position. * Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen * Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract * United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify Physical Requirements: Most positions involve work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Travel Requirements: Travel to Pittsburgh, PA, Morgantown, WV, or Albany, OR NETL site may be required.
