Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We’re looking for Mechanical Engineers at various experience levels to join our motivated and trusted team. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary group working on impactful water and wastewater projects across the region. In these roles, you will: Take ownership of engineering tasks that grow in scope and complexity, with support and guidance from senior team members Contribute to analysis, design work, tenders, and proposals Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, geotechnical, etc.) Delegate, supervise, and mentor junior mechanical engineers Work actively towards professional certification or registration Help prepare documentation, ensuring accuracy and meeting quality standards Build your understanding of business operations, including budgets and revenue Develop your communication, presentation, networking, and consulting skills We’re looking for engineers with excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder relationship skills—those who are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative environment. Ko wai koe | About you You’re a motivated engineer with a passion for water infrastructure and a collaborative mindset. You’re keen to grow your technical skills and contribute to meaningful projects that make a difference. You’ll bring: A degree in mechanical engineering Over 5 years’ experience in a consulting or utility environment, particularly in pipeline, hydraulics, pump station, wastewater or water treatment plant designs Experience with 3D Design Modelling packages (AutoCAD, Inventor, and Plant 3D) — a real advantage Chartered status (preferred), or be actively working towards chartership A natural ability to build strong networks both within and outside the organisation Our Water Business At Beca, our multi-disciplinary Water team works across water, wastewater, stormwater, surface waters, and irrigation.
