BWGM have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Projects division on a permanent basis covering various sites throughout the Southern Water region of England. The overall purpose for the role is to deliver mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and new installation works including testing & pre-commissioning activities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair and install mechanical equipment for various private client sectors and Southern Water sites – pumps/ pipework/ screens/ valves/ gratings/ handrailing/ etc.
  • Assist in working with our civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation technicians, commissioning engineers and site client operations staff.
  • Swiftly and comprehensively fault-find, rectifying problems on a variety of mechanical equipment including sewage pumps and valves and associated pipe work, air blowers, screens, filter equipment, tanks, tank bridges.
  • Actively taking part in Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessment and all related Health and Safety issues, and demonstrate ability to interpret RAMS and prepare daily TSRA’s.
  • Providing information and on-site support for bWGM teams, assisting interdepartmental teams as required.
  • Working onsite and travelling to and from site.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
    To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous mechanical engineering experience ideally working within the waste water sector, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and the ability to work as part of team as well and on your own initiative. The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or be a time served apprentice. A full UK driving license is essential as various travel across the region is required.
