Job Description As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Resources + Industry (R&I) business has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to support the successful completion of a range of major mining projects across Australia and Internationally. Working as part of a dynamic, consulting environment, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and technical specialists. You will work across all project phases from studies through to detailed engineering and execution, working predominately across copper / gold resources projects. Utilising your relevant experience, you will also provide technical guidance to our graduates and upcoming engineers, contributing to the growth of the next generation of engineering consultants Develop design and optimisation of underground or surface mine infrastructure (water services, mine ventilation, dewatering, etc), underground bulk materials handling systems, and minerals processing, ensuring efficiency and reliability Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects, including feasibility studies, design reviews, and commissioning activities Conduct performance analysis and diagnostics of mechanical systems to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions Evaluate and select mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to support project requirements and regulatory submissions. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification (Bch Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent) 4+ Years experience in consulting or owners team project environment Recent, relevant experience in mining projects Experience in the design and specification of underground or surface mine infrastructure (water services, mine ventilation, dewatering etc.) underground bulk materials handling systems and mineral processing.
