Join us and design your place with Stantec. Your Opportunity We are seeking an Intern Mechanical Project Designer to join our Seattle office. You will work closely with experienced project managers, discipline lead engineers, project designers and BIM specialists to develop project concepts and generate quality design in the built environment. Aligned with our core values we offered structured training and technical development, career development and planning, and community engagement. You will actively participate in spatial equipment layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing, and field observations.  Our Buildings Internship Program is designed to give you the best internship experience possible through working on local projects and collaborating with designers, planners, engineers, project managers and technical leaders to explore the frontiers of design. Our goal is that every intern experience real projects at every phase of design. Additionally, you will participate in Stantec’s Intern Design Project, an integrated team design project for a real client. You will be teaming with interns in architecture, engineering, interior and lighting design, and specialty services in North America to design and deliver cutting-edge and sustainable design solutions that exceeds our clients’ expectations. Your Key Responsibilities * Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, engineering markups, codes, and other similar materials. * Use Revit and AutoCAD software to produce contract documentation to communicate electrical design information. * Perform interdisciplinary coordination with architects, other engineering disciplines, and design-build contractors to deliver quality projects to our clients. * Perform preliminary site assessments and construction project observations. * Perform basic calculations to analyze and design individual building electrical system components using company standard software and internal tools. * Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity. * Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
