Job Summary: If you enjoy seeing how moving parts, precision components, and large-scale equipment operate together, this internship is for you. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Centrus Energy, you’ll support the mechanical systems that drive advanced manufacturing and uranium enrichment technology. This is an opportunity to apply mechanics, materials, and design principles in a real production environment. What You Will Do You’ll assist mechanical engineers with equipment design support, component analysis, and system improvements for plant machinery. Projects may include reviewing mechanical drawings, supporting CAD modeling updates, analyzing vibration or thermal performance, assisting with root cause evaluations, and helping develop maintenance or reliability improvements. You’ll contribute to technical documentation, participate in design and safety reviews, and collaborate with operations teams to improve performance and reliability of plant systems.   We’d Love to Hear from People With: * Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program in mechanical engineering * Coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, or machine design * Familiarity with CAD software such as CREO, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD * Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerancing * U.S. citizenship   A Successful Candidate Brings: * Hands-on lab or project experience involving mechanical systems or manufacturing processes * Exposure to rotating equipment, heat transfer, or structural analysis concepts * Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills * Completion of at least two years of college-level mechanical engineering study   In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
