Description This Mechanical Engineer Internship position with Enterprise Engineering, Inc. is a paid, full-time learning experience for students to gather real-world practical insight to enhance their theoretical engineering knowledge from the classroom. This position will have the opportunity to examine design projects in various phases of completion while improving problem-solving, communication, and time management skills. Interns may have the opportunity to prepare for and observe field efforts, in addition to utilization and categorization of field discovery notes, media, etc. Interns may provide support on drafting, design calculations, code compliance review, and client deliverables. The position will work collaboratively with other engineers of varying disciplines and project managers on the design and repair of fuel systems. Requirements Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program from an ABET accredited curriculum. Desire to learn about the design and inspection of fueling systems, including piping, tanks, and pumps. Desire to learn about the preparation and function of a professional engineering design package, including preparation of design drawings, project specifications, and design analysis documents. Basic understanding of fluid flow through piping, including the application of Bernoulli’s principle to calculate flow rates and size pumps. Ability to methodically perform and document engineering calculations. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Working towards developing strong technical writing abilities. Ability to obtain U.S. military base access through completion of a comprehensive background check. Willing and able to independently travel to project locations, domestic and internationally. Proficient at using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Physical Requirements Work predominantly in an office environment. Occasional outside work in various conditions. See, hear and communicate with others in varying conditions using various methods. Travel independently for varying periods, both domestic and international. Lift or move up to 50 lbs. Sit or stand for sustained period. Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Walk, stand, crouch on uneven surfaces.
