In this role, you will work at the technical interface between OEM customers, engineering, and manufacturing. This is your chance to be one of the first on the ground in China, make a real impact from day one, and grow with us as we scale up. Your Tasks Supporting Chinese customer acquisition activities from mechanical engineering perspective Take ownership of mechanical design and development activities, including CAD modelling, drawings, and validation of components, systems, and test setups Ensure design quality and feasibility through simulations, calculations, and hands-on testing, while continuously optimizing for cost, performance, and manufacturability Act as the key interface to local suppliers, managing technical discussions, component sourcing, design approvals, and supporting procurement decisions Build a strong understanding of the local market, customers, and manufacturing landscape, while establishing and representing the mechanical engineering function in the region Your Profile 5+ years working in electric motor, drivetrain, or application engineering Practical expertise with central drive units or in‑wheel motor systems Familiarity with Knowledge of automotive standards and development processes (V-model, APQP) Background collaborating with automotive OEMs or major Tier‑1 suppliers Experience guiding products through all stages from early concept to SOP Structured, analytical, and cost-driven mindset linked with strong communication skills Ability to work independently in a fast-growing, SOP-driven organization Fluent in English and Chinese Your Benefits About us DeepDrive is a high-tech company headquartered in Garching (Munich), Germany, offering revolutionary drive units for electric vehicles.
