Job Description/Preferred Qualifications Lead and manage a team of 7-10 mechanical engineers (Israeli and global) working on the design, development, and support of multidisciplinary systems for semiconductor metrology applications. The manager will oversee engineering activities, ensure project delivery, foster collaboration across global teams, and drive technical excellence and innovation. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse team of mechanical engineers. Manage workload distribution, set priorities, and ensure timely project delivery. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team culture. Project Management: Oversee design, release, and implementation of optical, pneumatic, and electromechanical subsystems, jigs, and fixtures. Ensure successful execution of test plans, design reviews, and failure analysis. Coordinate work plans, build processes, and vendor management (local and overseas). Technical Oversight: Support R&D and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability and reliability. Troubleshoot complex system and subsystem issues; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. Guide proof-of-design, prototyping, and validation activities. Global Collaboration: Manage and integrate remote engineers into project workflows. Work closely with cross-functional teams across the global organization (including US, NPI, NPL, GSS, and manufacturing). Communicate requirements, timelines, and deliverables clearly in written and verbal formats. Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices in engineering, process improvement, and knowledge sharing. Lead CIP (Continuous Improvement Projects) and drive innovation. Minimum Qualifications B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in multidisciplinary system development and manufacturing processes (semiconductor industry preferred). Strong engineering understanding for diagnostic and troubleshooting of problems in optical, pneumatic, electromechanical, and software-integrated systems. Hands-on experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks or Creo required); EPDM, PLM, or Intralink are advantages). Familiarity with proof-of-design, prototyping, and validation methodologies. Experience with failure analysis and deep investigation of mechanisms and subsystems. Knowledge of opto-mechanical design, pneumatics, and/or vacuum systems is an advantage. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams. Strong project management, multitasking, and organizational skills. Ability to influence functional groups and drive system-level decisions. Strong team player with a collaborative mindset. Highly motivated, self-driven, and hands-on personality. Attention to detail and a system-based approach to problem solving. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English required). Other Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel (up to 20%) to vendors, R&D sites, and customers as needed.
