We are looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge technology.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Mechanical Engineering Specialist, you’ll be a key contributor to our mechanical engineering team, working hands-on to design, develop, and refine components and systems for our autonomous robots. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, designers, and technicians, learning from their expertise while applying your own problem-solving skills to bring innovative ideas to fruition. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills and expand your impact within a dynamic robotics company.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the robotics or automation industries, or in a related field involving complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (On-Shape preferred).
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding).
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include criminal/civil background checks
Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Contribute to the mechanical design and development of robotic subsystems and components, from concept to production. You’ll work on specific parts of larger projects, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes, design and conduct experiments, and collect data to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Product Sustaining & Continuous Improvement: Actively support and enhance existing robotic products by investigating issues, implementing design improvements, and optimizing performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness throughout their lifecycle.
  • DFM and Manufacturing Support: Work with senior engineers and vendors to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness. You will also work with Production to integrate practical manufacturing considerations into your designs.
  • Documentation: Create clear engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams, actively participating in design reviews and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
  • Continuous Learning: Embrace opportunities to learn new tools, processes, and engineering principles, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our design workflows.
