Description
Participate in new product development/introduction, innovation, idea creation and implementation. Serve as the mechanical design owner, make engineering decisions based on product performance test results, inspection reports, tooling assessments, DFMA considerations, product cost metrics and team input. Perform mechanical engineering, CAD solid modeling, design simulation, product specifications, BOM and ECO creation, systems development, product testing/results analysis and design validation. Create and coordinate product performance test plans with internal and external labs. Participate in project management and engaging with multi-disciplined teams to achieve goals using ProLaunch and other project management tools. Participate in Voice of the Customer (VOC) product, market requirements research and competitive benchmarking. Organize and coordinate work with team peers, extended internal team members and external developers. Maintain and upgrades existing products, participate in technical customer service support. Provide assistance with 3rd party certifications and regulatory compliance initiatives. Ensure timely completion and accurate results delivered to project commitment dates. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electromechanical engineering from an accredited institution Seven (7) years of experience in product development of electromechanical products/systems Three (3) years of experience with CREO 3D solid modeling and the ability to develop 2D drawings and assembly documentation including design inten Three (3) years of hands-on experience with any finite element analysis software Previous experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting engineering systems. Experience with SolidWorks solid modeling Experience working in a global business environment with remote teams to deliver the best results while leveraging very diverse experiences within the team Voice of the Customer (VOC) experience and Design Thinking experience with output applied to successful product developments Capable of providing technical leadership to team members across different sites with cultural diversity Strong cross functional collaboration driving architecture and design meeting customer requirements and business schedules Passion for innovation, scalable and reusable designs Willingness to mentor and train junior engineers, driving standard practices and tools Promote modern software engineering practices focusing on continuous improvements Great planning skills and demonstrated high performance in achieving goals
