POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of metal fabrication processes, shop tools, and machinery, and possess—or demonstrate the ability to develop—skills in CNC tool programming and engineering software applications. Exposure or knowledge of Solid Works is very strongly preferred. This role offers significant growth potential and hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred., however, significant experience in programming CNC tools and/or field may be considered in lieu of degree.
· Basic knowledge of metal fabrication processes and familiarity with standard shop tools and machinery.
· Exposure to or willingness to learn CNC programming (G-code, CAM software).
· Proficiency in—or ability to quickly learn—SolidWorks and other engineering software tools.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Self-motivated with a commitment to learning and professional development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience with Amada bending and laser programming software VPSS3i preferred (a plus!).
· Internship or project experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
· Exposure to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical design best practices.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and exposure to noise and machinery.

Responsibilities

· Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, focusing on manufacturability and efficiency.
· Materials Optimization – Programming machines to operate efficiently and reduce scrap or waste material.
· Work collaboratively with the production team to support metal fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, welding, and finishing operations.
· Support and assist production units in effective ways of managing inventory which may include utilizing whole or partial material resources.
· Operate and assist in the setup of various metal shop tools and machinery.
· Learn and apply CNC programming for tool path development and optimization.
· Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and documentation using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
· Participate in prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in product design and manufacturing processes.
· Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times.
