Description

Our client is a privately owned business who specialises in the design manufacture and supply of Temperature, level, Flow and Pressure systems.
As a vendor to some home brand names in the Mining, Oil & gas and local food manufacturers our clients’ designs are popular and have a high order board of demand. To accommodate ongoing demand and growth changes, we are now recruiting for an additional Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the business,
As an Engineering Technician your job will be to work closely with a small and dedicated Mechanical Engineering team, and report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for creating drawings and product designs through Solidworks software for customised temperature sensors, thermowells, RTD’s and float switches per customer’s technical specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and manufacturing our temperature instrumentation to be installed and assembled for our client’s mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
  • Responsible in choosing the right tools and equipment’s required to manufacture and assemble temperature instrumentation products as per our client specifications and to be manufactured by Technmitemp.
  • Creating drawings and products designs through Solidworks software for customised temperature sensors, thermowells, RTD’s and float switches per customer’s technical specifications and requirements.
  • Completing customised designs under the instruction of our Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Work closely with our clients to understand their requirements. Tailoring our designs and manufacturing our temperature instrumentation products according to our client’s specifications and needs.
  • Undertake data tests and analyse data from clients to ensure our custom design instrumentation products meet our client needs and customise specifications where required.
  • Choose correct thermocouple alloys, temperature ratings of wire insulation, types of thermocouple cables. Choose correct soldering or brazing processes for connecting RTD elements to wires, similarly for thermocouples to cables.
  • Creating bill of materials for each product to arrive with total manufacturing cost and customer sales price which incorporates required raw materials, pre-made parts, labour cost and tools/machines required in manufacturing the products. Refer to company internal data for materials of construction and assembly times.
  • Conducting tests such as air pressure and bubble test to ensure quality of products and errors are eliminated. Carry various NDT processes to ascertain quality of manufacturing processes.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation promptly and accurately
  • Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) when necessary
  • Continually seek improvements and better systems of work
