SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. In this role, you will contribute to our mission by applying your expertise in mechanical engineering to support various projects within the environmental consulting sector.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science or advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience or coursework in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design and specifications
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience performing mechanical calculations (energy, drainage, line loss, etc.)
• Basic report writing and technical communication skills
• Relevant internship(s) in construction, environmental, or industrial settings preferred
• Working towards or holding FE/EIT certification
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• AutoCAD and Revit design ability preferred
• Willingness to travel to project sites for reviews, audits, and meetings

• Perform heating and cooling load calculations
• Conduct code reviews for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs
• Perform energy, drainage, and line loss calculations
• Complete sanitary design considerations (layouts, process exhaust)
• Draft and review P&IDs and mechanical system schematics
• Prepare bid packages including equipment and sub-contractor scope, milestone schedules, and bid lists
• Create mechanical schedules and specifications
• Develop HVAC, utility, plumbing, and fire suppression systems for building and infrastructure projects
• Assist in system design development and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders
• Develop equipment layout plans, utility distribution plans, ductwork, and piping plans
• Support development of building management system (BMS) controls in coordination with electrical/controls engineers
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, construction drawings, and specifications
• Select fixtures and materials in alignment with project requirements and sustainability standards
• Conduct construction administration including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field inspections
• Research new mechanical materials, methods, and best practices to ensure quality and innovation
