HOURS OF WORK…

  • 37.5hrs per week. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Bristol Head Office / Hybrid – typically 2 days in the office including a Wednesday
  • Flexible work can be considered

SKILL SET, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • HNC/HND level qualification
  • Proven experience in mechanical estimating.
  • Tendered and secured mechanical bids up to the value of 2m.
  • Design experience (desirable).
  • Electrical experience (desirable).
  • Installers background (desirable).
Responsibilities

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE IS TO…

  • Produce accurate and high-quality tender bids in line with the commercial governance process
  • Support, maintain, develop and build the estimating department alongside procurement
  • Owner for the mechanical element of the estimating function
  • Identify potential opportunities to increase revenue and margin, feeding leads through to the sales function
  • Be prepared to support the whole business needs
  • Responsible for production of detailed tender bids, attending tender meetings and conducting post tender handover meetings - supporting the company’s growth development plan

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

  • Analysing tender specifications, schedules and drawings to ensure adequate information is available to produce accurate pricing
  • Issue supplier and sub-contractor enquiries, and evaluation of quotations upon return
  • Take off quantities of materials and apply labour values accordingly
  • Provide core costs and advise of challenges / risks pre-submission
  • Prepare tender submissions in the requested format and by set deadlines
  • Attending post tender client meetings
  • Preparing internal handover documents and attending handover meetings
  • Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor registers
  • Build and sustain client relationships
