MECHANICAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - COVERING NI

We are working with a specialist textile processing business who are seeking to recruit their new Mechanical Field Service Technician to complete servicing on their products at sites across NI.

In the role you will;

  • Travel to company product locations to complete and sign off servicing
  • Mechanical repairs
  • Working with lubricants, oils and greases
  • Signing off on work completed
  • Handling spares & parts

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and support to our clients in various manufacturing facilities. You will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a range of systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge base, experience in industrial maintenance, and the ability to work independently in the field.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an industrial mechanic or technician with a strong background in mechanical knowledge and industrial maintenance.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, HVAC/R technologies, and related components.
  • Experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues effectively.
  • Ability to read schematics and perform detailed analysis of electrical systems.
  • Previous experience in field service roles is highly desirable.
  • Military experience is a plus but not mandatory; however, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills in English are required for effective customer interaction.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required depending on the job location. Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in manufacturing facilities, including HVAC/R systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and managing work orders.
  • Conduct precision measurements using instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Read and interpret schematics to diagnose problems effectively.
  • Execute welding tasks including stick welding as needed for repairs or modifications.
  • Operate scissor lifts safely while performing on-site service tasks.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and providing timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical sales teams to provide insights on customer requirements and potential upgrades or improvements.
