OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Kinnegad, Co Westmeath.
As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for corrective, planned and preventative maintenance tasks with core craft skills such as welding, oxy-acetylene cutting, fabrication, alignments, slinging & rigging, fitting & overhauls, analytic skills & troubleshooting etc.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • Must have a mechanical fitting or Mechanical Automation L6 qualification.
  • >2 years Mechanical maintenance experience in a fixed-plant environment (preferably heavy engineering).
  • Willing to continually update all areas of knowledge required to carry out the job at maximum effectiveness and attend training courses as and when required.
  • Maintains a positive and enthusiastic approach to your job and set the highest possible standards for yourself and the team.
  • Is willing to question the current work practices & to propose and implement improvements for same.
  • Will uphold the values/Culture of business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on the duties involved in the execution of corrective, planned and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Complete all tasks to a high level of quality with a ‘Right first time’ approach.
  • Complete Risk Assessments and Safe systems of work as required for daily tasks and to ensure both one’s own safety and that of all colleagues are within company policy and to the highest standard.
  • Monitor equipment OEE and react to maintain production levels taking account of quality parameters, safety parameters and the engineering requirements of the plant.
  • Complete and close out work orders as required.
  • Work with the fitting team in a callout rota as part of the maintenance function & work a reasonable amount of overtime as required within the business needs.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as necessitated by your function.
