You’ll be part of a skilled group responsible for maintaining and repairing the fixed plant and ship loading systems, such as Crushers, Screens and Conveyors that keep this unique 6,000-acre operation running safely and efficiently. Working on a rotating shift pattern (4 on / 3 off, 4 on / 3 off, 7 on / 7 off), you’ll support the upkeep of crushers, screens, conveyors, and other key mechanical systems across the secondary production area. You’ll work within a close-knit team of five engineers, identifying faults, carrying out repairs, and helping deliver a reliable, high-performing operation. Glensanda is accessible via the Holcim UK ferry from Benderloch, with the option to either commute daily or stay onsite in free, fully serviced accommodation. What You’ll Be Doing Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to fixed plant, ship loading systems, and conveyors. Diagnosing faults and working methodically to return equipment to service safely and efficiently. Supporting maintenance schedules, inspections, and improvement initiatives. Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and equipment reliability. Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and support operational goals. Who You Are You’ll be qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline. You may have experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, or production — or from a transferable trade background such as HGV, automotive, or heavy mobile plant maintenance. You’re a hands-on problem solver, confident in fault-finding and mechanical repair. You take pride in working safely, maintaining standards, and supporting your team. You’re eager to learn — we’ll provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to develop your skills within a quarrying environment.
