SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team at HVL Solutions Limited. In this role, you will be integral to our operations by performing maintenance tasks that ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure in the water, oil, and gas sectors. Your expertise will help us maintain our high standards of service. The job involves fieldwork, where technicians visit sites to perform on-site inspections and repairs. Working away from home is essential, 2-3 nights per week. The following candidate will be part of a two man team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation and Maintenance: Tasked with installing different types of valves, including gate, globe, ball, and butterfly valves and Penstocks. They must ensure proper alignment and functionality according to engineering specifications and industry standards.
2. Troubleshooting and Repair: Technicians diagnose issues with valve operations and perform repairs. This may involve disassembling components, replacing worn parts, and reassembling systems. They must be adept at identifying leaks, malfunctions, and performance inefficiencies.
3. Reporting and Documentation: Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections is crucial. This documentation helps in regulatory compliance and aids in future troubleshooting.
4. Collaboration with Teams: Valve Technicians often work closely with engineers, project managers, and other maintenance personnel. Effective communication and teamwork are vital to address and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Proficiency: A strong understanding of valve types, operations, and applications is essential. Technicians should be familiar with various valve components and configurations.
Mechanical Aptitude: Valve repair and maintenance require a high level of mechanical skill. Technicians must be comfortable using hand tools and machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding mechanical systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose issues quickly and effectively is paramount. Technicians need to think critically and apply troubleshooting techniques to resolve operational problems.
Shift work, including evenings and weekends, may be required, especially in industries that operate 24/7.
