JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a mechanical fitter to join an established workshop team. A hands-on and varied role working with pumps, pump systems, valves and controls. With over 50 years of experience, we are an industry leader in bespoke fuel pump systems as well as experts in a wide variety of pumps and associated equipment. Working with our experienced team, this is a great opportunity to expand your mechanical engineering skills within the pump, valve and control sectors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Time served fitter with a strong knowledge of mechanical systems, experience of electrical systems an advantage.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient in using power tools, hand tools and manual machines with sound knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • While qualifications such as HNC, BTEC, or NVQ Level 3 are preferred, they are not essential. Practical, hands-on experience is the most valued criterion.
  • Confident to work under own initiative.
  • Familiar with ISO:9001 working practices and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly and test of new pump systems as well as the opportunity to assist with designing bespoke equipment tailored to the customer requirements.
  • Assess pump and equipment returned from customers, carrying out repairs in the workshop and occasionally on site.
  • Repair and test of precision valve equipment.
  • Opportunity to improve electrical skills by assisting lead Electrical Engineer with wiring / testing, gaining skills in bespoke control panel systems and design.
  • Site work / visits to new and existing customers.
  • Working with all other internal departments to ensure excellent standards and customer expectations are met.
