Description

We are now looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Singleton Birch. In this roleyou will work closely with plant engineers and production teams to ensure machinery is safe and operating with minimal downtime. You will carry out a mix of planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and improvement projects, while also supporting the upkeep of mechanical systems and infrastructure across the site.

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with plant engineers to drive the correct maintenance and improvement plans within your assigned plant.
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical systems across a large, manufacturing site in accordance with company EH&S guidelines.
  • Carrying out breakdown diagnostics (RCA) and support in the elimination of repeat failures.
  • Executing the mechanical equipment specific inspections as per CMMS schedule.
  • Maintaining accurately and effectively all necessary files/records, including use of the CMMS systems.
  • Ensuring on-site spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to in the utilisation and management of spares.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the job role

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A NVQ Level 3/4 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Conveyor Systems, Crushers, Screens, Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems would be an advantage
  • The ability to read technical drawings
  • The ability to Work at Height and in Confined Spaces with relevant training provided
  • An understanding and experience of HSE and quality requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment and ancillary.
