Description

A unique opportunity for an experienced mechanical/plumbing foreman to join a fast-growing MEP contractor with a healthy pipeline of diverse projects in both mixed-use residential and large scale ICI.
My client is a well-established contractor that offers full-scope mechanical services and partners with top tier GC’s and developers in the Lower Mainland. They have a diverse portfolio that includes mixed-use high rise and new build commercial and institutional projects. They have experienced a great few years of business, leading to massive growth opportunities.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage mechanical crews (e.g., plumbers, HVAC techs, apprentices).
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and assign tasks.
  • Ensure work is performed efficiently and in compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan installation procedures.
  • Work closely with general contractors, engineers, and other trades.
  • Monitor progress and adjust work as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all work complies with BC Building Code, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Inspect and test systems for leaks, functionality, and code compliance.
  • Order materials and schedule deliveries.
  • Manage tools and equipment needed for mechanical work.
  • Track inventory and reduce material waste.
  • Enforce WorkSafeBC safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings and site inspections.
  • Train apprentices and mentor junior staff.
  • Maintain project logs, time sheets, and material usage records.
  • Report progress, delays, and issues to project managers.
  • Provide input for job costing and project forecasting.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience working as a plumbing/mechanical foreman
  • Experience working on new builds projects, could be resi or ICI projects (e.g schools, hospitals)
  • Red Seal
  • Experience as the lead foreman on a project
  • Strong communicator

Compensation

  • Hourly rate $55 -$65+ (depending on experience)
  • New truck + gas card/vehicle allowance
