Job Description **Key Responsibilities** **Mechanical Equipment Installation** Inspect installation of main engines, auxiliary engines, gearboxes, shaft lines, steering gear, pumps, and deck machinery in accordance with Class and OEM requirements. Verify alignment, foundations, chocking, bolting processes, machining tolerances, bearing fits, and coupling alignment. Check mechanical construction works and piping routing against approved drawings, P&IDs, and specifications. **Hydraulic Systems** Inspect installation of hydraulic power units, cylinders, actuators, winches, thrusters, and related components. Validate hose assemblies, fittings, and pipework for correct materials, dimensions, and installation standards. Confirm cleanliness, flushing, pressure testing, filtration, and oil quality compliance per OEM and Class requirements. **System Testing & Commissioning** Witness pressure tests, flushing records, torqueing logs, and functional tests (FATs, HATs, SATs). Verify correct integration with electrical and automation systems and ensure as-built documentation is collected and validated. **Flag State and Classification Society Compliance** Ensure all machinery and hydraulic systems comply with Flag State regulations and Classification Society requirements (BV and ABS). Coordinate Class surveys and verify Class-approved drawings, material certificates, Type Approvals, and OEM manuals. Follow up on all Flag and Class comments until resolved. **Boskalis Procedures and Quality Standards** Implement Boskalis Inspection & Test Plans and prepare daily inspection reports, punch lists, and NCRs in accordance with company formats. Verify compliance with Boskalis commissioning protocols and SHE-Q standards on site. Participate in quality meetings, audits, and continuous improvement activities. **Coordination and Communication** Liaise daily with shipyard supervisors, subcontractors, OEM representatives, Class surveyors, and Boskalis site team members. Communicate deviations clearly in English and Chinese with supporting photographic documentation and technical follow-up. Qualifications **Requirements** **Education & Experience** Minimum 5 years' experience in newbuilding or installation of mechanical/hydraulic systems on offshore vessels, workboats, dredgers, or similar ships Strong background in marine machinery, hydraulic equipment, and system testing **Skills & Competencies** Proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) — spoken and written Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and OEM manuals Knowledge of Class requirements for machinery installations Solid understanding of alignment, chocking, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning processes Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools Additional Information What We Offer Opportunity to work on major shipbuilding projects Career development and technical growth opportunities in the relevant industry
