We’re hiring for a Quality Mechanical Inspector Level 2 position in Hawthorne, CA. This is an opportunity in which you will be supporting the first or second shift. If you have a passion for mechanical products and a keen eye for quality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! \n Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections—visual, dimensional, and physical—on components, assemblies, and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process, final, and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, and profilometers to validate part conformity. Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements. Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects, including damage such as burrs, scratches, loose fasteners, dings, and inadequate edge distances. Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have been properly executed. Receiving shipping documentation for accuracy, confirming part numbers, serial numbers, change notices, and destination data are correct. Assure appropriate packaging, preservation, and delivery handling upon receiving. Required Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection. Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards. Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges). Ability to adapt to new technology and software. Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products. Must be willing to undergo a background check. Must be ITAR compliant. \n $30 - $33 an hour \n SQA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
