Description This position has been posted for multiple office locations. Only hiring one engineer for one office location. Locations include Falmouth, ME and Anchorage, AK. Summary Professional Engineer (PE) with knowledge and experience in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of piping systems and storage tanks. This position prepares integrity and inspection reports, plus collaborates with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to evaluate storage tanks and piping systems and provide repair designs. This position requires travel (domestic and international) of up to 50%. This position may have the opportunity to manage projects, to include client interaction, review and conformance to contract obligations, and guidance to the assigned project team. Responsibilities: Performs engineering duties applying standard techniques and procedures. Produces technical reports, written technical specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates. Serves as Site Manager or Lead Inspector of inspection activities, production of inspection and integrity reports, and determination of remaining life and fitness for-service of inspected components. Performs project site inspections and data collection, with minimal supervision, providing field notes and sketches in sufficient detail to develop inspection reports and integrity management plans and for CAD drafters to produce engineering drawings. Performs non-destructive examinations under minimal supervision as a Level II Non-Destructive Examiner for Ultrasonic Testing at a minimum (additional certifications preferred). Obtains technical certifications relevant to inspection and mechanical integrity of fuel systems. Support project management tasks as assigned. Requirements Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum. Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience required. Or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required with master’s degree in engineering. Ability to obtain U.S. military base access through completion of a comprehensive background check. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Willing and able to independently travel periodically to project locations, domestic and international. Preferred Certifications at hire, or obtained within one year from date of hire API 570 and API 653 certifications. NDE Level II certification in UT. Additional certifications in MT, PT, and VT. Other Skills/Abilities Ability to form strong relationships with clients and teammates. Team player, willing to assist others. Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Ability to methodically perform and document engineering calculations. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Strong technical writing abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements Work predominantly in an office environment. Occasional outside work in various conditions. See, hear and communicate with others in varying conditions using various methods. Travel independently for varying periods, both domestic and international. Lift or move up to 50 lbs. May be required to lift up to 100 lbs. over short distances. Sit or stand for sustained period. Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Walk, stand, crouch on uneven surfaces.
