ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Mechanical Junior Engineer to join our TBM Plant team. You will be assisting in compiling construction report, managing construction review flows and controlling the review comment close out process and other general duties.
This is a full-time site-based role with requirements to work day and night shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in relevant discipline
  • Masters or Undergraduate Degree in relevant discipline

Responsibilities

THIS ROLE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Manage maintenance, modifications and demobilisation of Smoke duct gantries totaling 14 units.
  • Generating scheduled change out regime for high risk components on scabbling and drill gantries.
  • Reporting on scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
  • Providing engineering support for traversing of Lower Plenty box by all 14 gantries.
  • Managing the verification of conformance for works under control (quality, safety, environment.
  • Managing temporary works design and ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained.
  • Support a positive work environment and promote good employee relations.
  • Work with maintenance engineers, shift supervisors and foreman to improve maintenance procedures and plant equipment.
  • Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
  • Provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite etc. are essential.
  • Written, verbal and presentation skills e.g. facilitating meetings, pre starts and toolbox meetings and basic cost control skills
