Your Mission as a Mechanical lead As the Mechanical Lead, you will be at the frontline of mechanical maintenance excellence—ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of all site assets. From managing complex repairs and overseeing rotating/static equipment integrity to enforcing international HSE and engineering standards, your leadership will be key to driving the project's mechanical readiness and operational success. You Will Be Handling These Duties and Responsibilities as a Mechanical lead Lead the maintenance team in executing complex mechanical repairs on: High-pressure pumps Multi-stage compressors Emergency diesel generators Supervise inspection and maintenance of static equipment: Pressure vessels Heat exchangers Storage tanks Act as technical authority on mechanical troubleshooting (e.g., seals, bearings, valve internals). Develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs for rotating and static assets. Interpret and act on Condition Monitoring data (e.g., vibration, oil analysis) for predictive actions. Lead mechanical scope during Shutdowns and Turnarounds (TAR): Vessel inspections Piping modifications Overhauls of heavy rotating machinery Enforce Permit to Work (PTW) systems and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols. Ensure strict adherence to API, ASME, and other global standards for hydrocarbon and pressure equipment. Lead Job Safety Assessments (JSA) for high-risk activities like confined space entries and lifting operations. Manage critical spare parts inventory, planning for long-lead items and high-value components. Oversee third-party contractors and OEM reps during major overhauls. Maintain CMMS records (SAP, Maximo) to track equipment reliability and intervention history. Qualifications and Skills That Will Allow You to Thrive as a Mechanical lead Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certification. Minimum 15 years of oil & gas maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a lead/supervisory capacity. Advanced technical skills in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), P&ID and isometric drawing interpretation. Strong leadership in managing cross-functional maintenance teams and 24/7 site operations. Deep understanding of rotating and static equipment in oil and gas processing environments.
