MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

£45,000 inc shift allowance

Kirkland Associates are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients engineering team. This permanent role offers a competitive salary including a shift allowance and the opportunity to make a real impact in a thriving Engineering & Manufacturing environment. As a skilled Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing both reactive and proactive maintenance to ensure productivity at all times.

  • Hands-on Mechanical Expertise - Leverage your extensive knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, pipe fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics to keep our equipment running at peak performance.
  • Continuous Improvement - Work closely with engineers, operators and management to identify and address maintenance challenges, implementing innovative solutions that drive continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to Safety and Quality - Prioritise the safety of our team and the integrity of our products, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency in welding, fabrication, machining, pipe fitting, and mechanical fitting and assembly
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a shift-based, 40-hour working week environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record of successful maintenance operations
  • Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in engineering or a related field (NVQ level or equivalent minimum)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the Engineering & Manufacturing sector
