Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Direct Reports: None
Objective of Role :-
To provide a safe, proactive and cost effective maintenance service of mechanical equipment across the site.

Skill Requirements :-

  • Mechanical qualification to minimum ONC or equivalent (level 3 NQF) with time served apprenticeship.
  • 5 years minimum post qualification experience in mechanical technical position.
  • Detailed experience (fault finding, repair & installation) of mechanical associated equipment.
  • Basic pipefitting and welding capability in addition to mechanical fitting.
  • Ability to repair various types of pumps, valves, gearboxes etc.

Task Requirements :-

  • Ensure legislative and company requirements & standards are met in carrying out all maintenance work.
  • Complete maintenance tasks promptly and effectively to minimise plant down-time in the event of unplanned stoppage or failure, including investigation, removal, repair and reinstatement of Mechanical equipment as required.
  • Actively participate in team call-in system to provide an out of hours emergency maintenance response as required. Develop additional specialist skills as required as part of maintenance improvement programme and coach/train other members of the team in these specialist skills if required.
  • Carry out installation and commissioning work on new mechanical plant or equipment items.
  • Assist with the supervision of contractors engaged on the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment.

Hours of Work :-

  • 37 Hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:15, Friday 08:00 to 15:45
  • 45 minutes un paid lunchbreak (12:30 to 13:15)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £34,580.00 per year
